Missy Wood, director of The Veranda, receives the Rotarian of the Year Award from Caleb Yawn, Rotary Club president.

On June 22, 2017, Life Care Center of Rhea County in Dayton, Tennessee, hosted the annual Rotary banquet.

Approximately 50 local business men and women attended. The facility provided dinner catered by Cookie Smith and gave tours to interested parties.

Missy Wood, director of The Veranda assisted living portion of the facility, was named Rotarian of the Year. The honor recognizes a member for service and leadership that goes above and beyond. Wood has been a member for four years.

“I was and am totally honored to receive this award,” said Wood. “To be honest, I was shocked. There are many others in the club who were deserving as well. Rotary is about service above self – service in your club, your community, your country and your world. I am very proud to be part of such a wonderful organization.”

Wood was also installed as the 2017-2018 club president.
